Elevate Indianapolis, IPS, and Ivy Tech Partner to Launch College Core Program
Elevate Indianapolis, a non-profit organization, has partnered with Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) and Ivy Tech to launch the IPS College Core program at Arsenal Tech High School. Elevate Indy’s unique approach to instruction and mentoring provides students with 24/7 wrap-around support and college and career programming.

Indianapolis, IN – Elevate Indianapolis, in partnership with Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) and Ivy Tech, has launched the IPS College Core program at Arsenal Tech High School. The program aims to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in college-level coursework and beyond.

The Elevate Indianapolis IPS Indiana College Core Cohort was established in January 2023, with a vision to serve up to 350 students annually over the next five years. Elevate Indy launched one IVYT dual credit “Intro to Elevate” cohort at Arsenal Tech in January 2023, with a second cohort beginning in the 2023/2024 school year. The program also seeks to expand its reach to other IPS high schools.

The unique aspect of the partnership between IPS and Elevate Indianapolis is the 24/7 wrap-around mentoring and support that students receive, along with college and career programming. Additionally, IPS/Elevate College Core students are scheduled for an additional Elevate course in their high school career to strengthen the cohort’s in-school and after-school relationships.

Elevate student Landon expressed his excitement about the program, stating, “I decided to take the IVYT class because I feel as if it would open new paths for me, allow me to try something new, get a year of college done, and prepare myself for what is to come in my future.” Fellow Elevate student Evan added, “Elevate is a great program that allows kids to become the best that they can be and gives them opportunities that they wouldn’t be able to take advantage of otherwise. I highly recommend Elevate for kids who want a family away from home and a place where they feel like they belong.”

Elevate Teacher-Mentor of IVYT Intro to Elevate course, Ms. Anyea, praised the program, stating, “IVYT 106 is an amazing way to introduce students to the college experience. The character skills and knowledge they gain from this course will allow them to matriculate through high school and college with confidence. I believe that our mission here at Elevate combined with mentoring during and outside of school day will leave a life-long impact in the lives of our students.”

Stephannie Bailey, CEO Indianapolis Public Schools Foundation, commended the program, saying, “Elevate Indy’s approach to instruction and mentoring is both comprehensive and individualized, allowing students to develop the skills they need to succeed both in high school and beyond at the college level. Elevate Indy is able to leverage its relationships with students to teach the introductory college and career readiness course that sets the stage for the next 30 credit hours of college-level courses they will pursue through the Indiana College core program and sets students up for success in college.”
