Alumni Success Stories
Juli Lee graduated from Arsenal Tech High School, Class of 2021, and was very involved in Elevate! She is in the teacher education program at the University of Southern Indiana. She joined a sorority, Alpha Sigma Alpha, holding an officer position as membership experience director, handling academics, ceremonies, and sisterhood/community building events.
She shares, “Getting continual support and keeping those relationships from Elevate well after high school my college years have helped me thrive. It has given me the push and the drive I need to experience and grow in ways I could never imagine! Something I’ve learned along the way is to never assume the answer is no! Because the majority of the time it is not!”
Class of 2024 Senior Success Stories
Heidy will graduate from Arsenal Technical High School and will attend IU-Indianapolis and continue to grow the small business she started, where she sells snacks and sweet treats. Heidy has served as a student-intern with Elevate and helps with various administrative tasks. She has also been accepted into the One America Junior Fellows Program. Heidy says “Elevate has helped me prepare for life after high school by helping me start my own business and helping me with my professionalism.”
Deonna will graduate from George Washington High School and will attend Indiana State University after graduation. When reflecting on her time with Elevate she says, “Elevate has helped me prepare for life after high school by showing me different experiences and teaching me new things like how to write a professional resume.” She also says “[Elevate] has helped me become a thriving contributor by showing and setting an example for me to just watch. Anything they do…I do it as well.”
Taevon will graduate from Arsenal Technical High School and will attend Indiana University Indianapolis. When asked what he thinks about his time spent with Elevate he says “Elevate has helped me prepare for life after high school by teaching me how to build connections and network and even more importantly to be professional.”
