To prepare our city’s next generation for upward economic mobility and committed leadership in their community, we create trusting relationships between students and teacher-mentors who encourage, guide, and advocate for them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year as they navigate challenges and explore possibilities.

With mentoring relationships as our anchor, we recognize the value that shared lived experience brings to relationships between youth marginalized by society and adults who lead, teach, and invest in them.

We make it a top priority to hire staff who face similar socioeconomic, systemic, and cultural obstacles as our youth but are overcoming them in their own lives, laying the groundwork for trust and providing real-life examples of self-advocacy, agency, and opportunities our students can grab hold of and implement in their own lives.
