The Good Wages Initiative understands that when employees are paid fairly, we all benefit. Offering higher wages attracts more qualified workers, improves employee physical and mental health, and fuels the city’s economic development as a whole.
To demonstrate the importance of offering sustainable wages, the Good Wages Initiative seeks out and celebrates Marion County businesses that offer at least $18/hour to employees, as well as access to health benefits.
At Elevate, we want our students to know that they deserve and are capable of achieving financial success. Our students often come from a background of intergenerational poverty, and they begin their Elevate journey unaware of a path upward. Elevate’s holistic support model aims to help our students out of the cycle of poverty so they can achieve the stability and sense of purpose they crave.
By offering livable wages and access to health benefits, we strive to value our employees the way we want future employers to value our students. When our staff feels properly compensated for their work, they help our students see that they deserve to be recognized as valuable members of their community.
